My Work

I am a senior civic and environmental leader dedicated to advancing climate resilience, environmental justice, and public space equity across New York City and New York State. My career brings together science, community organizing, urban planning, and public-sector leadership — bridging institutions and neighborhoods to achieve durable, community-centered change.

For eighteen years, I worked to transform the Bronx River through a nationally recognized public–private partnership among City agencies, community organizations, and federal and state partners. Under my leadership at NYC Parks and the Bronx River Alliance, the collaboration mobilized more than $250 million in climate and capital investments; created 25 acres of new waterfront parkland in historically underserved neighborhoods; launched workforce development and youth programs; and opened River House — a LEED Gold environmental center hailed by The New York Times as “the greenest building in the South Bronx.”

I have guided organizations through periods of transition, strengthened governance and financial systems, expanded community coalitions, and developed multi-year strategies for climate adaptation, ecological restoration, and inclusive public space. I have collaborated with City and State agencies, academic institutions, environmental organizations, faith communities, and resident leaders to shape programs and policies rooted in justice and long-term resilience.

My work sits at the intersection of urban systems, climate adaptation, community engagement, and public-sector innovation — grounded in a belief that the people closest to challenges must help shape the solutions.

I hold a Master in City Planning from MIT and a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from UNC–Chapel Hill. I serve on state climate and adaptation advisory bodies and was a co-founder of the innovative NYC-based RAIN Coalition.

I am committed to helping New York City meet this climate moment with bold action, collaborative governance, and community-centered leadership.
